Parker LePla is a brand strategy consultancy working with companies, large and small, to define, integrate and live their brands. We have authored two best-selling books on branding: Integrated Branding and Brand Driven, and often speak at national conferences on integrated branding. We were founded in 1994 by F. Joseph LePla and Lynn M. Parker, who are still actively running the company and consulting with clients. Some of those clients may be familiar names: Philips Medical, Potlatch, Group Health, Microsoft. Some of them we think you will hear about some day.
We created this meeting place for brand leaders for two primary reasons: one, our readers and our clients wanted more help in the hardest part of their jobs: getting people to live the brand day in and day out. And two, we’re always pushing the frontiers of brand theory and practice, and wanted a place to share that knowledge with others. Hence, Integratedbrand.com was born.

The Parker LePla Team
Lynn Parker, Principal
Lynn has been thinking really really hard about branding for more than 20 years, including co-founding Parker LePla, writing two books on integrated branding, and speaking at national conferences on branding. Before Parker LePla, she was creative strategies director at Seattle ad agency Floathe Johnson, a writer at a high-tech PR agency Regis McKenna, and a journalist at three newspapers. She has helped such organizations as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Tektronix, Potlatch, City of Seattle, Group Health, Grist and the Wilderness Society reveal and live their brands. Other portions of her brain are populated by playing Zimbabwean marimba music and Scrabble, parenting three quirky kids and supporting her husband’s marathon addiction.
Joe LePla, Principal
Joe LePla co-founded Parker LePla with Lynn Parker in 1994, co-authored two branding books with her and continues to explore how to help companies make the brand shift. Prior to Parker LePla, Joe was vice president and general manager of public relations at advertising agency Floathe Johnson; ran a previous agency, JL Communications in Detroit, Michigan and was a vice president and member of the senior management team for a financial services holding company, U.S. Mutual Financial Corp.
Briana Marrah, Principal
Briana Marrah has been working in the field of brand strategy and communications for over 10 years for clients such as Microsoft, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Group Health and Merriman Berkman Next. Strategy, change management and forthright truthtelling are her strengths; doggie merchandise, stinky cheese and farmers’ markets are her loves.
Beth Woolley, Senior Account Manager
Beth brings organizational change management experience and a social services and marketing background, which she has applied to helping such organizations as Serials Solutions, Group Health, Emerald City Smoothie, and City of Olympia Public Works make brand shifts. She’s a naturalized Washingtonian with a penchant for relaxing, sailing and the outdoors–reserving her considerable energy for helping clients meet their challenges and goals.
Katherine Hall, Senior Account Manager
Katherine’s experience working at nationally renowned healthcare organizations, including the Menninger Clinic and City of Hope National Medical Center, provide her grounding in the healthcare environment. At Parker LePla, she helps organizations reveal their brands and align their values with their actions to deliver more of what they promise. When she isn’t doing that, you’ll find her living the good life: traveling, entertaining friends and family, reading or simply enjoying a gourmet meal (that she prepared herself, of course).
Jen Travis, Senior Account Manager
Jen has been a brand curious-ist for over 10 years–interested in why some brands succeed and others fail. Her curiosity led her to a career in marketing and brand strategy, cutting her teeth in advertising where she worked with such brands as Hewlett-Packard, Westin Hotels and Resorts, Tully’s, Agilent Technologies and others. She also spent a few years consulting with non-profit organizations on how to utilize their brands to increase their community support. Ultimately, her passion led her to Parker LePla where she has worked with many companies (large, small, for-profit, non-profit) to help them discover and live their brand. In her other life, Jen finds herself playing “ponies” with her two young daughters, debating political issues with her husband, watching old movies, or reading anything she can get her hands on.
Hiley Spaet, Senior Project Coordinator
Hiley Spaet is a senior project coordinator at Parker LePla. She is a bit of a numbers geek which is why she loves working on brand analysis projects. She’s worked on such client teams as Potlatch, Group Health Credit Union and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Aside from numbers, she loves bike rides, the New York Times Crossword, volunteering, political conversations and her guitar.
Krista Joy Johnson, Project Coordinator
Krista Joy Johnson is a project coordinator at Parker LePla who has worked on the Talaris Research Institute, Health New England, Seattle Public Utilities and Puget Sound Neighborhood Health Centers client teams. Her master’s degree in leadership and ethics keeps everyone on their toes and she puts her graphic design skills to work as well. She likes things that are simple but beautiful and would work from here if she could.
